National TV Awards
Entertainment, TV & Film — By admin on January 27, 2012 10:38 pmThe presenter for the night, Dermot O’Leary, opened the show with a follow-up by Bruce Forsyth. Bruce was joined by Ant and Dec to warm up the audience with their parody.
One of the many awards was the Landmark Award, which was chosen especially for David Walliams for his outstanding charity swim in the Thames. Another charity chosen award was Outstanding Contribution Award for Gary Barlow for his fantastic effort in organising and taking part in many fund-raising events.
The two main stars of Doctor Who, won best actor and actress, while Downton won the overall best drama. The biggest award of the night, Serial Drama, went to Coronation Street.
As it was live, a few mistakes obviously took place. JLS and One Direction were announced to be performing during the break of the NTAs, but they were mysteriously cancelled. This is not surprising, after Bruce Forsyth had an accident with his microphone.
The audience of the NTAs, joined in the excitement during the night. One lucky audience member was able to announce an award. However, the audience were looking away when Fatima came onto the screen with her ‘I’m a Celeb’ highlight of the series!
There were only a few stars who came towards the audience, one of which was the actor of Arthur (Fat Boy) from Eastenders, who decided to come to the side of the V.I.P area and give the audience hugs!
It was definitely an exciting and fun night, not just seeing Keith Lemons gold suit, but the award ceremony and performing acts. The outstanding performances were by X Factor winners Little Mix, and the fund-raising choir Military Wife’s. People may wonder whether Ant and Dec will win Best Presenters for the 12th year running, but that’s for another year.
