Twilight Fever

First it was Beiber Fever, but something else has eclipsed (couldn’t resist) this now long forgotten illness. Twilight Fever. Its victims are usually female, go by the collective name of ‘Twi-hards’ and have symptoms such as obsessive natures, high-pitched squeals and are utterly devoted to Stephanie Meyer’s novels and now, film adaptations of the Twilight Saga. However there is a distinguishable difference between ‘Twi-hards’ and one that causes many debates, Team Edward or Team Jacob?

Eclipse is the third film to be released in the Twilight Saga and is easily the best with its mixture of romance and action. It will have fans divided more than ever before on whom Bella Swan should choose to be with. Does she take Edward Cullen, a hundred year old vampire with a crooked smirk and who is, in her own words ‘old school’, or Jacob Black, a boy who doesn’t seem to own a shirt and who is in a pack of shape shifters. Whilst this decision alone is more than enough to send a teenage girl into overdrive, there is also the small worry that a newborn army of vampire are after her blood.

Whilst Twilight is known for capturing the hearts of millions of girls, Eclipse has enough action to satisfy even the most unwilling of boyfriends who have been dragged along. An explosive battle against the newborn army lets the werewolves show off their strength and moves and the Cullen coven don’t hold back either. Amongst all the limb tearing Bella finally reaches her decision, and breaks the hearts of Team Jacob fans everywhere…but only after finally giving them all something to rave about – a smouldering kiss followed by a proclamation of love for the wolf. Although Bella has finally chosen her man it seems many Twi-hards are still deliberating on theirs.

And Eclipse brings to our attention more eligible bachelors than the warring Jacob and Edward. For those wanting a more mature, intellectual man there’s hunky Dr Carlisle Cullen, or for those younger fans there is the adorably cute Seth Clearwater, a new wolf in the pack. Personally, I’m a Team Jasper girl, the southern gentleman who has overcome his dark past and can win a girl’s heart with his seductive smirk alone.

What’s not to love? It’s undeniable that Twilight Fever has become a crazed pandemic, and I myself have fallen prey. So if you do decide to go and see the latest vampire phenomenon prepare yourself, this fever bites.
